GOODBYE 1ST TRIMESTER!!!

There's not really any new news tonight, I'm finally out of my 1st trimester!! Whooo hoooo!! The HB today was 168-171. I feel awful - some smell in the house is making me sick tonight, and I have a headache from you know where. It's 8:20 and I'm going to sleep! Goodnight!

Your pregnancy: 12 weeks

How your baby's growing:The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

How your life's changing:Your uterus has grown to the point where your healthcare provider can now feel the top of it (the fundus) low in your abdomen, just above your pubic bone. You may already be into maternity clothes, especially if this isn't your first pregnancy. If you're still fairly small and not yet ready for maternity clothes, you've no doubt noticed that your waist is thickening and that you're more comfortable in loose, less restrictive clothing. You may begin to feel heartburn (also called acid indigestion), a burning sensation that often extends from the bottom of your breastbone to your lower throat. Many women get heartburn for the first time during pregnancy, and those who've previously had bouts of heartburn may find that it gets worse. During pregnancy, the placenta produces a lot of the hormone progesterone, which relaxes the valve that separates the esophagus from the stomach. Particularly when you're lying down, gastric acid can seep back up the pipe, which causes the uncomfortable burning sensation. For many women the problem doesn't begin (or get worse) until later in pregnancy, when your growing uterus starts to push up on your stomach. The discomfort may range from mildly annoying to intense and distracting.

Day Care.....

Well - I've been doing a lot of looking into Day Care recently - and it's not so easy. I would really like to see somebody in our family babysit - but I know that that's not always possbile, money does make the world go 'round. Turns out that I've been talking to one of Jason's ex coworkers and think she'd be a great trustworthy person and I would love for her to care for my baby. We'll see how that goes. Hopefully it turns out the way we'd like it too.

I found the HB tonight, 173... Last night it was 168-172, it kept changing. But - still normal!

I felt pretty yucky today - nothing sounds good at all. We ate at Kiku's for dinner and it's settled alright, just a little questionable if I would ever eat it again, while pregnant at least.

It's amazing to think that I'm already 3 months pregnant (on Friday anyways) and that my pregnancy is 30% over already. My next Dr. appt is Monday at 8:30 so I'll be sure to let you all know any news!

Goodnight.

First Belly Rub

Well - I had my first person rub my belly today. Thank god it was one of my dearest people in the world. She said 'Oh my, you are showing!' Haha. I didn't take it personally, and I thought it was cute. I like the belly rubbing. I find myself asking Jason to rub it to put me to sleep. He doesn't. =)

We listened to the HB last night, 178BPM. I got bored today and did it again. 176BPM. It is a sound I've become addicted too. Jason makes fun of me a lot, but I just can't get enough of it.

This is my 11th week, and here's what babycenter.com says about it...

Your pregnancy: 11 weeks
How your baby's growing:Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden. She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.See what your baby looks like this week.Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.
How your life's changing:If you're like most women, you're feeling a bit more energetic now and your nausea may be starting to wane. Unfortunately, you may also be suffering from constipation (caused by hormonal changes, which can slow digestion) and heartburn (hormones again, relaxing the valve between your stomach and esophagus). Just remember, all this discomfort is for a good cause.Don't worry if nausea has made it impossible for you to eat a wide variety of healthy foods or if you haven't put on much weight yet (most women gain just 2 to 5 pounds during the first trimester). Your appetite will likely return soon, and you'll start to gain about a pound a week.

Pictures!!

This is my 8 week belly picture! I "think" my organs already starting adjusting at this point.... Or I have wishful thinking... =)

This is my 10week 6 day (almost 11 weeks) picture.... This is even me trying to suck it in.... oh goodness!!

Happy New Year!!

I can't believe it's 9am and I'm already awake on my day off...

I rang in the New Year, asleep on the couch. It seems like every year I end up saying I don't care about a new year, it'll be here when I wake up. Well - Thanks to my lovely boyfriend, he woke me up at 11:45 - and boy was I cranky!! I just kept telling him I hated him and to let me go back to sleep. He didn't. Men.... sometimes they amaze me.

Oh yeah - baby stuff. I had a pretty hard time finding the HB yesterday. I could find it then "she" would make me chase her and once I would find it again she'd move again. She didn't stay in one spot long enough for me to get a BPM, although I think Jason said he saw a 174 blink on then back off...

You'll find in a lot of these posts, until week 20, I'll refer to the baby as a her/she. I just hate referring to her as an it. Seems like a bad mom thing. =) Jason does call the baby a "turd" so sometimes we'll also call it that on here instead of jellybean. Hope everybody can keep up with us.

I woke up this morning - not feeling to well, maybe a little bit nauseated. I'll try to eat and hopefully that works. I tried to find the HB again this morning and after about 5 minutes I did find it, I can't remember if it said 171 or 176 though. At any rate - it's in the norm for her. 170's-180's seems to be where she lands everyday. I do feel like the more I hear the HB the harder it gets for me to find it. So I'm going to take a couple days off from it. My next Drs. Appt is Jan. 12th, so not that far away. I don't think it'll be anything special anyways....

I have a few belly pictures to post, so after I put this up, I'll try to figure it out.

Happy 2009!!!
